Leftroom has cooked up an EP featuring some of the freshest electronic talent on the block. With Inxec & Mark Chambers at the helm, the ‘Sports’ EP is an aural feast of bass heavy tech grooves with remixes from London’s first lady Maya Jane Coles and Desolat wonder boy Guti.

Delving in at the deep-end, A side ‘O’so’ is a smooth deep-tech concoction driven by some serious sub bass, soaring pads and a floating old school vocal. The warm languid feel of the track doesn’t stop it from being a moody dancefloor treat. Maya Jane Coles lends her trademark dubby deep house style to a remix that fizzes with more bump and tempo than the original but not without a ripple of spookiness underneath the groove.

On the flip, ‘B Side’ is an equally sublime and sprawling house cut that begins with a thumping bass beat and undercurrent of darkness but ultimately gives way to warm stabs and rumbling textured percs. A gravelly vocal is dispersed amidst a deliciously dubby bassline. In the remix, Guti explores tougher pastures with a driving club track that strays from his usual Latin flavour but certainly hits the spot. The digital only instalment ‘Regret’ is a dreamy hypnotic soundscape of rolling techno that unfolds into epic territory with feather-light pads, deep bass, and haunted moans that balance the pace of the feisty kick drum. Best known for his raw and innovative techno sound, Christopher Sylvester aka Inxec is fast becoming one of the most in demand producers and DJs in the world with a string of releases under his belt for Contexterrior, Culprit, Cocoon and Cityfox. Cohort Mark Chambers continually aims to create music that honours the past whilst infusing the digital tools of a futuristic house sound. Having recently relocated to London he has found himself immersed in the capital’s hub of creativity, this being his 2nd Leftroom release to date.

Maya Jane Coles needs little introduction after her heroic past year that saw her win accolades for her unique and diverse production style and gain no.1 spot across the board for monster club hit ‘What They Say’. Guti is the former jazz virtuoso from Argentina turned electronic artist on the rise who has been busy collaborating the likes of Guy Gerber, Ryan Crosson and Shaun Reeves. His debut album ‘Playground’ is about to drop on Desolat.
